Last night my family and i were super excited to see the countdown to the new year. My big has been enjoying her geography lessons so it was interesting explaining to her how it was already new years day in Australia and New Zealand. We all enjoyed watching the fire works display on the news of course as i was not cuckoo or brave enough to go see it live with 2 small children. My favourite part of the evening was going to church and listening to a lovely message by my pastor.
Church is always super packed and the overflow has become an extension of the church so i never get it when news papers write about Christianity being in decline. Anyway, last night it was so packed there were 3 over flows plus a different location near Hyde Park. Church was amazing i enjoyed every bit of it. Pastor Colin preached about walking in boldness, embracing who we are in Christ and going back to basics which is our relationship with Christ. He also preached about the importance of prayer and not neglecting the word of God. Praise and worship gave me extra life. It was truly wonderful night and even better to see in the new year in the house of God. I feel so ready to grab 2018 by the hands because of my pastor’s encouraging message.
Well hello 2018 and happy new year to all. May you be truly blessed in all aspects of your lives Amen.

It has been a while since i posted anything here as i have been so busy juggling work, children, school and everything else. I may only have two hands but i am ever so thankful that i have an awesome God who holds me and and all that concerns me in His hands amen. The year has gone by so quickly and its only just sunk in that it is yet another Christmas eve. Just before bed time today the girls and i left out a glass of milk for Santa and some carrots for his reindeers. I told my girls that this year we will give Santa only 3 cookies because he is on a diet..yes he really is on a low carb diet 🙂 After we left out the treats my girls quickly went to sleep. I must say it has been the easiest bed time ever yessss. As i sat down to relax i pondered deeply on how fast this year has gone and how Christmas has taken me by surprise. Well now it’s time to stop overthinking and start enjoying because after all it is a blessed day.
I am known as the mama of the family because i just love to have people over. Sometimes friends, family, neighbours and of course fellow mums. Friends on a diet often avoid popping round for fear of adding on calories because they know that visiting me equals lots of yummy home cooked food and i never take no for an answer. The other day whilst returning from the school run, i bumped into my dear friend Julia Gulia. As usual we agreed on date for tea and cake. Me being me i offered to host but my dear friend would have none of it. She promised me some yummy home baked chocolate cake and well….i just could not refuse.
When i arrived for our tea and cake a few days later, i could not believe all the trouble she had gone. She had baked he most amazing chocolate cake which was just waiting for me to dive into. My friend knows how much i love herbal tea and well any type of tea really and she made a huge effort. I had so many to choose from i was like a spoilt gummy granny.
It was such a blessing and as i left that afternoon i thought, sometimes all we need is a love, tea, cake and great chit chats. I also realised that it is perfectly OK to be loved on and spoilt because kindness can experienced both ways.
I am always on the look out for ways to make my cooking easy by trying lots of different stuff…yes i like to spice up my life lol (my kitchen life). I have recently become acquainted with the darling savoy cabbage and i must say its the best cabbage ever. I am familiar with the red cabbage which can be used for salads an likewise the white cabbage which can be steamed but the savoy cabbage in my eyes is the queen of all cabbages. I have found the savoy cabbage to be so versatile that i have been able to use it raw for coleslaw, gentle steamed and served with a delicious roast. The most surprising thing of all about the darling savoy cabbage is that it has withstood my African cuisine. I was able to make a proper soup with palm oil and smoked fish which tasted amazing alongside pounded yam. I know that some African dishes takes ages to be prepared and my soup was prepared in 30 min but i was amazed that the cabbage retained its colour and crunch. So if you are looking to spice up your life and add some colour to it then i would recommend this delicious veg. It is simply delicious whichever way you choose to serve it and i guarantee you will soon be chomping at the savoy.
Just popping by to say happy Resurrection week and i hope you had a blessed one. I find it so beautiful that God almighty gave His precious son as a gift and Pascal/Resurrection week is a time which often brings it home to me. The Bible is very explicit on the pain and suffering that Christ endured on the cross. Upon the cross we saw the exchange of beauty to ashes take place. Jesus took all the sins of the world upon his shoulders and return He gave salvation and peace. I am so thankful each and every single day especially during this precious time of the year.
I thoroughly enjoyed teaching my little princess about Easter and what happened to Jesus. The littlest one has a toddlers bible but we used her big sister’s read and share bible which is published by Tommy Nelson. They love this bible because at the end of every chapter there are questions that little ones can relate to.
Asides from indulging on the love of God, the little ones enjoyed sweet treats, chocolate eggs and a yummy chicken roast by myself.
Happy Shrove Tuesday to all those celebrating. Shrove Tuesday which is also known as pancake day is one of the many important days on the Christian calendar. It is the last day before the season of lent. On pancake day we enjoy rich food such butter and eggs because once Lent season begins, some people choose to give up on certain rich food. Pancake Tuesday is important because it is also the countdown to Easter (Pascal) which is truly the most important day in the whole Christian calendar for obvious reasons. Without the Resurrection of Jesus, Salvation would be non existent and i for one i am eternally grateful for all Christ did on the Cross for me amen.
My princesses and i enjoyed some yummy pancakes, strawberries, nutella and honey. I love the fact that i can get them involved in these types of activities because it opens doors to questions and answers which in turn brings forth knowledge. Here are the pictures of our lovely desert…yummy yummy
Happy New year !! Hip hip hooray praise the Lord 🙌🙌🙌.
May the good Lord order our steps 👣👣👣 as we step into this brand new year. I don’t know about you but I have seen the goodness of God in 2016 and I am eternally thankful. There were ups and downs and at times some things were beyond my human understanding but God in His Grace and mercy brought us through it all. So to God be the glory for the great things He hath done amen.
Have a blessed and marvellous new year filled with the blessings of God which maketh rich. The Bible tells us in proverbs 10:21, ‘The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it’.
I know that God is not an ATM machine where we can just at the drop of a hat or rather pin number demand this blessings. This is because as followers of Christ we understand that the foremost numero uno aspect of our faith is having a personal relationship with Christ. Walking with Christ everyday and spending quality time in His word. I also understand as a believer our words are very important and as the Bible says ‘life’ and ‘death’ is at the power of the tongue. So let’s speak the blessings of God upon us and our families, homes, loved ones ,teachers, ministers etc for 2017 amen …..Again I say happy New year 2017 praise the Lord 🎊🎊🎉🎉💕💕💕💒💒💒💒💒
