Dumb and dumber parents put baby on the cliff…….with 1,982ft drop

cliffA picture emerged on line this week from Norway showing the moment a couple put their tiny baby on the edge of a cliff and stepped back to take photos. The photo was taken by Mr Fred Sirevag a hiker who witnessed the shocking incidents. According to DM, he was hiking with his his 11 year old daughter when he saw a group of people by the cliff. Among the group was a lady who placed the baby right by the edge of a cliff which has been responsible for many deaths. The identity of the family is unknown but authorities should do what they can to check on the welfare of this child because i think what they did was damn right irresponsible. What is crazy about this picture is that their baby girl was dressed appropriate fro the weather. She even wore a hat yet she was placed on a spot where she could have have died in a split second. They should have swapped the sun hat for a safety harness i say or better next time find a baby friendly holiday spot.

Update Meriam, the Sudanese woman who gave birth in prison

Sudanesewoman

It was announced recently that Meriam was no longer facing the death penalty and even after that announcement she spent more time behind bars. Meriam was released from prison and applied for a travel document in order to travel to America with her family. The BBC  reported that Meriam was further arrested upon her arrival at the airport on Tuesday again by the Sudanese government who accused her of fraud. They claimed her travel documents were fake and again held her against her will. Her lawyer appealed for bail which was granted  and eventually she was told she is free to leave. 2 days ago Meriam and her husband and children set off to South Sudan where the are making arrangements to travel to America. This mother has been through so much lets hope for a brighter future for her where she can finally settle down and enjoy her life and her babies.

Faith school or non faith school?

schoolsThe past 1 year or so i have had to make a very important decision regarding my daughter’s education. My darling just turned 4 and in September she will be starting reception so i have had the task of visiting various schools and researching on the Ofsted website. I have always had my heart set on 1 particular faith school. It is a church of England school as that is the closest to our pentecostal denomination. This school is so lovely their website even states, ‘we learn together,we pray together’. I was fully armed with 6 choices to make because it is so difficult for school places to come by and every all parents are required to choose 6 school and also highlight their first and second choice.

I prayed about all my choices as well as talking to other mums and dads about our local schools.  I prayed that God will give my daughter the best school for her, a school which will cater to her Christian faith.  When my daughter was 6 months old we dedicated her onto the Lord and our pastors emphasised the importance of training up a child (Proverbs 22.6) and so i am keen to uphold what we have been taught. I am not here to knock non faith schools because there are some brilliant no faith schools out there but i believe so it is important to choose what is good for your child and your family.

All the faith schools required a statement from our church which our kid’s pastor was happy to provide. We then had to indicate which church we go to and how often we attend. I suppose that is a good way for the schools check out the facts. Anyway to cut the long story short we received the results today and my princess was given her second choice…we were not given our first choice because that school is oversubscribed and also siblings get priority regardless of their faith (which kind of defeats the whole faith school objective). I hear overall many children did not get their first choice and hundreds of children were not even offered a place so we are grateful to God! I was a tad bit disappointed at first but then i remembered i did not make my decision on a whim and i actually prayed for God’s best and this is what He has done so glory be to Jesus!! So that is my experience for primary school application and here are a few tips for you to consider when your time comes:

*Visit the school for open days, do not just rely on the website because when you visit a place you often get a feeling..a knowing .

*Speak to other parents who may have children in that particular school

*Check out ofsted report (http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/schools/for-parents-and-carers/find-school-inspection-report )

*Pray pray pray because when you pray you hand over the whole process to God. God cares about all aspects of our lives including school applications for our children

*Ask your child what he/she thinks and what they want and do also take them with you to open days to see how they react to that environment.

The much awaited sonofgod the movie opens today in the US..UK next week 5th march

The much awaited movie sonofgod has officially opened in the US today. The movie is about the life of Jesus Christ the son of God and the whole project was birthed by Roma Downey and her husband Mark Burnett who are also behind the Bible mini series which did amazingly well on the history channel. Son of God the movie stars Diogo Morgado as Jesus. This week Roma Downey and her husband appeared on Joni Table talk on Daystar to discuss the movie. It was so lovely to hear them discuss how they relied on The Holy spirit to show them who was to play the role of Jesus and when Diogo walked in the audition room they knew without a doubt he should get the role. i am so looking forward to seeing this movie and it is definitely something the whole family can watch.

Merry Christmas

Image

Merry Christmas all, hope you have all had a blessed time with loved ones. This Christmas has been truly beautiful; celebrating with my husband and our two darling daughters. It was even more special as it was my youngest daughter’s 1st ever Christmas in the world. My little beauty enjoyed the day dressed in her reindeer tutu outfit and smiled and giggled all day despite her teething pain. My 3 year old enjoyed opening her gifts this year more than last year because she knows more than she knew last year. Before we went to bed she ensured chocolate biscuits and milk was left out for Santa. A few days before she visited Santa at the local department store and told him exactly what she wanted….Doc mucstiffins,a drum, guitar, baby annabelle, peppa pig laptop and oh the list goes on so hubby and i had to up our game this year to much her expectation. There was no snow but there was plenty of laughter, love, food and songs of worship at our place. In the midst of the presents, cooking mayhem there was an essence of peace knowing that none of those things mattered. Jesus our Lord is indeed and always will be the reason for this beautiful time called Christmas. My 3 year old out of the blue put a smile on my face when she said, ‘mummy Jesus was born in Bethleeeam’, to which i replied that’s right and on Christmas day we celebrate His birthday.

So merry Christmas to you all and may the good Lord, the prince of peace Jesus CHRIST the author of salvation grant you His goodness, mercy and favour Amen. xxxxxxx xxxxxxxx 😉
