Happy mother’s day 2016

Image result for mothers day christianityJust a little note to say a very happy mother’s day to all the mother’s out there. As hectic as our daily schedules are and as tired as we get sometimes still we now deep within our hearts that being a mummy is one of the most rewarding roles ever. Sometimes it feels like you do not even have a moment to just relax and those weekend lay in are a distant memory yet we would not trade mummyhood for the world.

I had a lovely mother’s day and for me the highlight was receiving a card from Grace which she had made at school. She already told me on Friday she had a surprise for me in her book bag but i had to promise not to peep. The card was so beautiful and i could see all the effort she had made to make my day lovely. We went to church and we enjoyed a wonderful message titled love by Dr RT Kendall. We also took communion (as we do first Sunday of the month). The service was so beautiful and i felt so blessed.

After church i received another card from hubby and a big box of chocolates which we all demolished after lunch yummy yummy. As much as i am thankful for these things…i am also thankful; for life, health  and family. I am also thankful for pure love which we have in Christ.

Happy mother’s day to all you wonderful mothers out there :))

Call Her BlessedWow it has been ages since i blogged but could not let this day go by without popping by to say happy mother’s day to all. This beautiful journey called motherhood starts from forever and lasts forever. As well as being beautiful it is also one of the most important roles in the world because even world leaders and lawyers do not just fall from the sky. Indeed they came about because somebody chose to give them life and nurture them.

I was walking back from school drop off last week when i had a deep convo with one of the mums who also happens to be a christian. We discussed about the scripture that says ,” Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature”(Mark16:15-16). You see a lot of the times people are gagging for roles in the church whilst neglecting their responsibilities as parents or sometimes undermining their roles. Some are obsessed with joining the choir, ushering or hogging the stage. Now, there is absolutely nothing wrong with serving but i believe we need to stop undermining our roles and find a balance. The Bible does tell us to, ‘train up a child in the way he should go’ and that backs backs up what my friend and i were discussing. We discussed how we can fit in ‘go ye into the world’ in between school runs, cooking, cleaning, homework, school project, taking care of hubby and all other things that being a full time mother entails. My friend laughed and said, ‘but your children are your number one ministry’. She is sort of right because sometimes there is that conflict that a lot of us would love to go out evangelising etc and then you have that guilt when you cannot find the time. I believe that when God wants you to go and be a missionary He will provide all that is necessary for example Valerie Shepard and her family. Likewise i do not think it is wise beating yourself up and feeling guilty that your not out there doing the ‘work’ of the Lord because, believe me ‘training up your child’ still counts as serving the Lord.

So back to the point, happy mother’s day dear mothers and me included. Whatever we are doing with our families, i pray that we would do it all as if doing it unto God. The main thing is that  we have to enjoy every seasons of our lives and who knows, perhaps one day God may send you to preach, lay hands on the sick and be the hands and feet of Christ. Saying that, it does not mean we cannot reach out in our current season. It would not hurt to share the love of Christ with fellow mums. It would not hurt at all to offer to pray for the sick or the lost. What i am trying to say is before we get the opportunity to go to a far away place…..i guess we can start wherever we are so on that note, Happy mother’s day with Love and blessings to you all xxxxxx 🙂

New year resolutions….i am a believer :)

Proverbsmama

It is that time of the year again, the beginning of the year where everything is brand new. New year brings with it new hopes and dreams. At times, new year also brings with it reminders of buried dreams and failures.

Now that January is here, we will no doubt be hearing of the latest fad diets and must have books. Now i know we are supposed to be in the world but not of the world (John 17:14-15), but i cannot help but want to jump on this band wagon. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having faith and hope and having hopes for the new year.

Habakkuk 2:2 says , ‘And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, so he may run that reads it.’ I love this verse because it encourages us as believers to write our visions down and it ties nicely with Hebrews 11:1 which says, ‘Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see’. These verses are amazing because they show the starting ground of any dream or any hope and that is the planning stage where you write it all down and as time progresses you see yourself stepping out in faith and acting out what you have written. I believe writing down our visions is a bit like having a drawing board so that we can keep going back to it for pointers should we get stuck.

The Bible also tells us that we must act out because faith without works is dead so i encourage you and myself to write those resolutions down and act it out throughout the year. You will be amazed by what you will accomplish (With God’s help of course)

Wendy Alec tells her side of the story

WendyNearly a week after her husband stepped down from his role as one of the co-founders of GodTv, Wendy Alec has finally spoken out. According to an article published on the Plymouth Herald which was published 4 hours ago, Wendy has confirmed that her husband Rory Alec left her for another woman and no longer wants to stay married nor remain in ministry.

In a statement broadcasted on GodTv, Wendy spoke of how her marriage started to fall apart early 2014. She said sometime in March her husband started behaving in a strange manner and she felt in her heart something was up. She said by August 2014 Rory’s affair with a lady based in Austria had come to light. Unfortunately Rory and Wendy are no longer a couple as the statement read out suggests he refused counseling and has now moved out of his marital home.

According to Wendy, Rory is now living in a farm owned by his girlfriend’s father in South Africa (yes the Austrian lady with whom he cheated with). To make matters worse, this woman has been rather persistent and claims God told her that Rory is her husband…huh? come again, sorry lady but he cannot be your husband if he already has a wife as that would make it totally unbiblical. This is one thing that i would never understand, why some woman and some men target married people. Yes i understand nobody is perfect and we are still living on planet earth and hence prone to sin but for someone to target somebody who is already attached is bang out of order.

I feel sorry for this couple and their lovely children Samantha and Christian. I just pray God restores everybody concerned. Lets not forget, underneath it all, they are still people in need of the Grace and forgiveness of Yahweh.

Happy 57th birthday to Michael W Smith

SmithHappy 57th birthday to our modern day Psalmist Micheal W Smith who turned 57 years old yesterday 7th October. Looking at his most recent picture one would not believe he is beyond his forties…more like he is just entering his forties. Michael is well known for his beautiful worship music which is a staple for many churches worldwide. I can testify that his music ushered me into the kingdom of God and helped me work out a lot of issues when i was a brand new believer way way back in 2006.

It is good to see somebody growing older gracefully (with the Grace of God of course). It is even better to see somebody ploughing away with the work of God and that is exactly what Michael is doing. Michael recently released his brand new album called Sovereign. This album is full of beautiful songs which i cannot imagine anybody listening to without lifting their hands up in praise and worship unto the Lord.

As well as being a full time musician Michael W smith is also married and has been married for 31 years (take note Hollywood celebs). Michael is also a father of 5 who lends his time to good causes. Wow how does he find the time….must be the Grace of God so here here to many many more happy birthdays Amen.

Yesterday i met a miracle!

knit-me-2I am a stay at home mum, a homemaker if you please and i thoroughly enjoy my many roles. To some my role may be the most boring of roles yet God in His goodness manages to fill my days with His beauty. In my everyday activities i get to meet so many interesting people from all walks of life and at times it may seem as if the Lord is trying to tell me something through these experiences. Being a mother is not boring at all because it is one of the most important jobs in the world because one way or another we are helping shape and mold tomorrow’s people.

It does not matter where i go or what activities i engage in with my darlings because somehow the love of Christ and His Grace is all around. So yesterday i was at playgroup following my baby (well she walks now i guess that makes her a toddler…) as she played. I got talking to another mother who was there with her 2 year old daughter. We complimented each other’s little ones n and had a little natter about how quickly children grow. She then told me that her child should not be alive because she was born at 24 weeks. My face dropped and i asked her if she meant 34 weeks she repeated 24 weeks. She explained to me that they had only moved to the area when she fell pregnant unexpectedly. She went into labor at 24 weeks and the hospital nearby is the only hospital that ‘works’ to save babies born that early. She explained to me that the majority of hospitals at the time only worked to save babies born at 27 weeks (i do not know if this is still the practice). I looked at that beautiful little girl and i almost cried because to look at her walking, talking and enjoying her life you would not believe how she almost never made it because of policies and politics. Her mother told me outright that her daughter would have certainly died had it not been for this particular hospital and also it got me thinking about how precious life is. I thought about the abortion laws which state:

Under UK law, an abortion can usually only be carried out during the first 24 weeks of pregnancy as long as certain criteria are met (see below). The Abortion Act 1967 covers England, Scotland and Wales but not Northern Ireland, and states

I am not trying to make anybody feel guilty of any past abortions but i feel that the government should be doing more to reduce that limit because at 24 weeks the baby is well and truly developed and after that little miracle i met yesterday nobody can tell me that she is not real and did not exist or have feelings at 24 weeks. I have never really given much thought to the subject but now i know that the 24 weeks limit is not justified and there are now more and more cases of babies surviving even at 22 weeks thanks to medicine and technology.

My eyes are now open and i can safely say that i believe every baby should be given a chance to live and i am so grateful i met that beautiful miracle yesterday. Long may she continue to thrive as God continues to bless her with perfect health and a life filled with Grace.

There are various Christian organizations that provide post abortion counseling and can be found on the following:

Phenomenal Woman (remembering Dr Maya Angelou in her own words)

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can’t see.
I say,
It’s in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I’m a woman

Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
‘Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
