Wendy Alec tells her side of the story

WendyNearly a week after her husband stepped down from his role as one of the co-founders of GodTv, Wendy Alec has finally spoken out. According to an article published on the Plymouth Herald which was published 4 hours ago, Wendy has confirmed that her husband Rory Alec left her for another woman and no longer wants to stay married nor remain in ministry.

In a statement broadcasted on GodTv, Wendy spoke of how her marriage started to fall apart early 2014. She said sometime in March her husband started behaving in a strange manner and she felt in her heart something was up. She said by August 2014 Rory’s affair with a lady based in Austria had come to light. Unfortunately Rory and Wendy are no longer a couple as the statement read out suggests he refused counseling and has now moved out of his marital home.

According to Wendy, Rory is now living in a farm owned by his girlfriend’s father in South Africa (yes the Austrian lady with whom he cheated with). To make matters worse, this woman has been rather persistent and claims God told her that Rory is her husband…huh? come again, sorry lady but he cannot be your husband if he already has a wife as that would make it totally unbiblical. This is one thing that i would never understand, why some woman and some men target married people. Yes i understand nobody is perfect and we are still living on planet earth and hence prone to sin but for someone to target somebody who is already attached is bang out of order.

I feel sorry for this couple and their lovely children Samantha and Christian. I just pray God restores everybody concerned. Lets not forget, underneath it all, they are still people in need of the Grace and forgiveness of Yahweh.

Jennifer Aniston admits to drinking her bestie’s breastmilk….

Jennifer

Two days ago Jennifer Aniston admitted to drinking her best Molly’s breast milk on the Jimmy Kimmel live show. Jimmy Kimmel who also happens to be the best friend’s husband dug further and Jennifer opened up about being involved during many of her friend’s labour and births. Jennifer called childbirth a,’miracle’ and expressed how disappointed she was to not be present a month ago when her friend Molly gave birth to baby Jane.

Jimmy the show host did not seem grossed out at all as he asked her about the taste to which Jennifer replied “It’s sweet, it’s almost coconut-milky.” Jennifer also mentioned during the interview that it was indeed one of those milk that could be consumed without guilt and by the sound of things it seemed she enjoyed herself…well each to their own as they say.

Whilst some people might be slightly disgusted by this (including myself), There are many people out there…grown ups who enjoy having breast milk as part of their diet because of its many health benefits. In 2011 a restaurant based in London’s Covent Garden became the first ever restaurant in the UK to sell ice cream made from breast milk. This dessert was rightly named Baby Gaga (but i think the name may have changed due to being sued by lady Gaga?) Anyway the owner of the company started this idea as he thought it was good enough for babies then it would be good enough for everybody. According to the BBC report which you can find on the link below, the donor known as Mrs Hiley would express on the spot then the milk would be pasteurized and made into ice cream and then sold for per serving £14.

Mrs Hiley used to get paid £15 for every 10 ounces of milk she donated to the company and said it was a great “recession beater” as she was able to make extra cash suing her best ‘assets’ as she called it.

In 2010 a top restaurant owner and Chef Daniel Angerer revealed his recipe of cheese made from his wife’s breast milk and was happy to welcome those curious for taster sessions…okay i am lost for words here but you can read more and get the recipe on the link below from the Guardian.

Well what can i say here…live and let live as the saying goes but still i think drinking breast milk is a very odd thing to do mind you that may be due to what i have been brought up to deem as normal. I cannot even see anything in the Bible that talks about adults drinking breast milk however the closest thing i could find is in Proverbs 5:19 where it reads as follows:

A loving doe, a graceful deer—
may her breasts satisfy you always,
may you ever be intoxicated with her love.

I know the above applies explicitly to husbands and a wives so whilst husbands and wives keep each other busy doing whatever they do hint hint  i will stick to good quality cow’s milk thank you!

Seek and ye shall find…i found the ultralight Joovy

DSC_0181(2)

Ever since my first daughter was born 4 years ago I have gone through more buggies and pushchairs than kiddicare.com. My first ever was a baby weaver travel system which came with a carry cot and a car seat. By baby was nearly 4 kilos at birth and long so she did not get much use of the car seat. She only ever went in the carry cot once at 2 weeks old and cried at the top of her lungs. After this I went through other buggies and most recently the Hauck Freerider which I only purchased 1 year ago but hardly used. Anyway to cut the long story short I have found the buggy that I should have purchased 4 years ago…introducing the Joovy ultralight! I did not want to waste anymore money on buggies so I decided to buy on gumtree.com. A nice lady listed one some time in May,i paid £65 and collected. My superhusband steam cleaned it for me and it looks fantastic. So far I have managed to ditch the sling for good and have been using my new best friend the Joovy ultralight. It is so easy to push and I love the fact that Grace can stand up on the board or sit on the bench if she gets tired after a long day out. This buggy has made nursery run so much easier especially when getting on or off the bus. It only takes the space of a single buggy so no more grumpy bus drivers telling me to wait for the next bus. Shame this buggy is not widely available here and I only had 2 options ebay or gumtree. There were plenty of sellers all based in America but by the time you calculate £80 shipping fee, it is enough to put you off. My advice if purchasing a buggy, buy a good one which can be used for years and for more than 1 baby if you intend to have more of course…(wink wink). This buggy can accommodate a new born baby by enabling you to attach a car seat. It can accommodate a toddler and so far I had been able to carry my 1 year old,her big sister and their friend from nursery so yes it is amazing it can take 3 children. I am really enjoying my hassle free outings and highly recommend this buggy.

It was announced recently that Meriam was no longer facing the death penalty and even after that announcement she spent more time behind bars. What is mama cooking? baked spicy chicken liver with fresh seasoning

ImageYou should know by now that i love cooking…especially for my husband and my children and for pretty much anybody who loves to eat. My husband loves to eat and i love to cook so i always say we are a great match. This here is one of my husband’s fave. I do not really have a name for it but we shall call it liver with fresh seasoning just for naming sake. I prefer to use chicken liver because i find any other such as lamb liver quiet bitter and tougher. There are plenty benefits in eating chicken liver as it is high in iron and vitamin A. If pregnant do consult your healthcare provider as liver being high in vitamin A is not meant to be eaten during pregnancy (well that is it what i was told by my midwife). I am no longer pregnant and still not the biggest fan of liver but like i said it is my husband’s fave and when i cook it i mainly just enjoy the sauce it produces. Here is the recipe for those who dare to try.

What you will need:

Fresh chicken liver (i get mine from sainsburys)

Fresh ginger

fresh garlic

chicken seasoning

1 whole scotch bonnet chilli

1 whole onion

1 whole lemon

2 tbs of rapseed oil (any oil will do as long as it is edible lol)

fresh chopped parsley (half a bunch)

2 Maggi or 1 knor cube (take your pick)

First you wash the liver and put it in a baking dish. Finely grate your ginger (half a hand..i don’t know how to quantify ginger) on top of the liver. Finely grate 10 cloves of garlic on top of the liver. Put half of a tsp of chicken seasoning all over the liver break the Maggi or knorr all over the liver. Cut your lemon in half and remove seed and squeeze both halfs on top of the liver. Chop your scotch bonnet and place it all over the liver. Do not throw away the seeds because the strength of the chilli is in the seeds. Add your parsley and oil and finally rub everything in. You can also add 2 tbs of water to help bring out more juice.

It is very simple to cook, simply place the dish in a preheated oven at 150 and let it it cook for 27 minutes turning with a spoon halfway. By the end of the cooking you should be left with juicy baked liver which can be served with chips or baguette or both and green salad. Enjoy and let me know how you get on. cheers!!

The picture above is how it looks just before it goes in the oven, i took the picture with my mobile phone and the lemon is just for decoration.

baby due dates….are they ever correct?

wombbbbbbI have laughed about this topics on many occasions with my friends. From the moment you miss your period and see your doctor to confirm pregnancy you are automatically lumbered with dates. Dates for screening, dates for scans, dates for gestational diabetes and the list goes on. The most important date however is the due date which according to health professionals is estimated from the first day of your last period. Pregnancy usually last up to 37-40 weeks so your health professional would give a date based on that. Not many woman know this but  i have just read on baby centre that sperm can the sperm can hang around in the fallopian tube until an attractive eggs pops along..how interesting indeed so just because you do the deed on Monday it does not necessaries mean baby happened straight away so i think i now understand how due dates can be misleading. I have to emphasise that due dates are simply there as a guide to enable health professionals to offer better care to both mum and baby so that is quite reassuring.

I have had my own drama with due dates, with my first baby i was told she would be born on 14th march. I was also told that first babies never come .I started maternity leave on 1st March and  14th March came and went and there was no sign of my baby girl. And as days went by i started to look for signs of labour and there was no broken water, no gushing of anything. Nothing at all like what Hollywood has fed people for decades. I started to feel unwell with raised temperature and had strong contractions. I called the hospital and they kept telling me, ‘sorry you do not sound like your in labour’. This carried on for days until i eventually took my maternity bag and decided to go in regardless because by then i had not slept for almost 1 due to strong contractions. I am glad i went in because i was told i had severe urine infection and i was given antibiotics and kept in as i was already overdue and not in good shape. I was in a state of panic but i thank God my husband was there the whole time praying and also the lady from the Womb ministry called everyday to pray and assure me that it will all happen in God’s time! So my first baby girl was born on the 23rd March and not the 14th March.

My second baby was also overdue. Because of all the issues that went on with the first i was advised to go in for a sweep from 38 weeks. My score was very low and i was told to come back weekly for sweeps which was so uncomfortable and painful might i add…(wow the stuff us woman go through). Anyway i remembered what sister Ayo said about everything being in God’s time. God knitted that precious baby in my womb and in His appointed time the birth would take place. One Friday morning i woke up with strong urge to clean the house even though my husband insisted i sit on the sofa. I cleaned the house top to bottom and only sat down to eat in the evening when my sister in-law made some delicious beef stew with lots of scotch bonnet chilli. As soon i finished eating i turned around and said to my husband, ‘lets go (i know that chilli kicked started full labour lol)’. We were admitted and by the morning i was more than 5cm dilated and by Sunday at 2am my darling princess was born. She was due on the 3rd April but arrived on the 14th April.

If you are waiting for your little miracle please take heart. God is with you and as a believer you need to just immerse yourself with the word of God just the way your take your daily pregnancy multivitamins. I can assure you the Word will sustain you and your baby Amen!!
