A mother has been left in agony after she was injected with strong disinfectant directly into her nervous system. This happened in Sweden at Skåne University hospital in Sweden on the morning of 26th July. According to the Daily Mail, the epidural solution was swapped by mistake for chlorhexidine which is usually used for disinfecting medical instruments. The woman stayed in hospital nearly 2 weeks after giving birth and has only been discharged today. According to her husband, the new mum is in constant pain which she described as, ‘jolts of electricity.
According to DM, this is not the first time an Epidural has gone wrong. They report a woman in Australia was left paralysed from the waist down after suffering nerve damage in 2011.
This is scary stuff as Epidural is already a complex procedure but at the same time we live in society where there is always something offered (i have nothing against people’s choices of pain relief) but after reading this i shall be encouraging myself and other mums to always try the most natural and less invasive option. We do not now what this woman’s situation was so it is not for me to judge so i hope and pray she recovers with no lasting damage Amen! It is well and easy to say because each birth is different and different pain relief work for different woman. For example, someone once told me to opt for gas an air because it causes some to feel as if floating on air but for me it did not work and i certainly did not feel like i was floating on air.
Medical staff and doctors do have to take better care and i pray this does not happen again to someone else. Also if your a believer you have an advantage in the power of prayer that as you go through birth and delivery, Jesus will be with you and will make everything go well and in your favor.
The past 1 year or so i have had to make a very important decision regarding my daughter’s education. My darling just turned 4 and in September she will be starting reception so i have had the task of visiting various schools and researching on the Ofsted website. I have always had my heart set on 1 particular faith school. It is a church of England school as that is the closest to our pentecostal denomination. This school is so lovely their website even states, ‘we learn together,we pray together’. I was fully armed with 6 choices to make because it is so difficult for school places to come by and every all parents are required to choose 6 school and also highlight their first and second choice.
I prayed about all my choices as well as talking to other mums and dads about our local schools. I prayed that God will give my daughter the best school for her, a school which will cater to her Christian faith. When my daughter was 6 months old we dedicated her onto the Lord and our pastors emphasised the importance of training up a child (Proverbs 22.6) and so i am keen to uphold what we have been taught. I am not here to knock non faith schools because there are some brilliant no faith schools out there but i believe so it is important to choose what is good for your child and your family.
All the faith schools required a statement from our church which our kid’s pastor was happy to provide. We then had to indicate which church we go to and how often we attend. I suppose that is a good way for the schools check out the facts. Anyway to cut the long story short we received the results today and my princess was given her second choice…we were not given our first choice because that school is oversubscribed and also siblings get priority regardless of their faith (which kind of defeats the whole faith school objective). I hear overall many children did not get their first choice and hundreds of children were not even offered a place so we are grateful to God! I was a tad bit disappointed at first but then i remembered i did not make my decision on a whim and i actually prayed for God’s best and this is what He has done so glory be to Jesus!! So that is my experience for primary school application and here are a few tips for you to consider when your time comes:
*Visit the school for open days, do not just rely on the website because when you visit a place you often get a feeling..a knowing .
*Speak to other parents who may have children in that particular school
The much awaited movie sonofgod has officially opened in the US today. The movie is about the life of Jesus Christ the son of God and the whole project was birthed by Roma Downey and her husband Mark Burnett who are also behind the Bible mini series which did amazingly well on the history channel. Son of God the movie stars Diogo Morgado as Jesus. This week Roma Downey and her husband appeared on Joni Table talk on Daystar to discuss the movie. It was so lovely to hear them discuss how they relied on The Holy spirit to show them who was to play the role of Jesus and when Diogo walked in the audition room they knew without a doubt he should get the role. i am so looking forward to seeing this movie and it is definitely something the whole family can watch.
Merry Christmas all, hope you have all had a blessed time with loved ones. This Christmas has been truly beautiful; celebrating with my husband and our two darling daughters. It was even more special as it was my youngest daughter’s 1st ever Christmas in the world. My little beauty enjoyed the day dressed in her reindeer tutu outfit and smiled and giggled all day despite her teething pain. My 3 year old enjoyed opening her gifts this year more than last year because she knows more than she knew last year. Before we went to bed she ensured chocolate biscuits and milk was left out for Santa. A few days before she visited Santa at the local department store and told him exactly what she wanted….Doc mucstiffins,a drum, guitar, baby annabelle, peppa pig laptop and oh the list goes on so hubby and i had to up our game this year to much her expectation. There was no snow but there was plenty of laughter, love, food and songs of worship at our place. In the midst of the presents, cooking mayhem there was an essence of peace knowing that none of those things mattered. Jesus our Lord is indeed and always will be the reason for this beautiful time called Christmas. My 3 year old out of the blue put a smile on my face when she said, ‘mummy Jesus was born in Bethleeeam’, to which i replied that’s right and on Christmas day we celebrate His birthday.
So merry Christmas to you all and may the good Lord, the prince of peace Jesus CHRIST the author of salvation grant you His goodness, mercy and favour Amen. xxxxxxx xxxxxxxx 😉
I could not believe what i heard today but unfortunately it is true…the founder of TBN Dr Paul Crouch has gone to be with The Lord at just 79. My prayer is that God will comfort his loved ones and carry them all through this tough time. They should also take comfort in the legacy that this great man of God has left behind in various people worldwide. When i got saved in March 2006 i found TBN to be most useful in those early walks. I would often watch various teachings by the likes of Joyce Meyer,KCM and TBN’s own shows like behind the scenes with Dr Crouch. I cannot state enough how important the Bible is but i also know faith comes by hearing and the more i heard the word of God in those nearly days the more i felt strengthened.
Now as a mum of two i realise even more the importance of good quality Christian programming as we are not exactly spoilt for choice and the secular kids programmes seem to be getting darker and more new age by day. My 3 year old princes loves TBN and she has learned so many scriptures by watching God Rocks and singing along with them and also by watching other cartoons.I thank God that TBN and other Christian channels are there playing their parts in influencing our kiddies in a positive way and may it long continue for countless generations and more in Jesus name Amen.
