All my friends know one thing about me that is i love my hot drinks. My cupboard is filled with lots of different teas ranging from red bush,English breakfast tea, green tea, ginger, lemon and of course hot chocolate and coffee. Once in a while when i am filling adventurous i like to sprinkle cinnamon on my hot chocolate especially on a cold winters day. Of course one does not have to wait for a cold winters day to inject some delicious warm hmmmmm in my day and so i always have my teas ready to go. It all depends on my mood and the weather but my everyday tea is usually Roobois red bush tea which i love because of its health properties and and zero caffeine. I love my green tea which is full of antioxidants as well as the odd coffee but i try not to have coffee often because it turns into a cycle of headaches which only go away when i drink more coffee lol.
As much as i love my tea i always feel as if i never make enough time to enjoy my cuppa as my chores always get in the way. I am always doing something whether cooking, cleaning, changing nappies, going to nursery, returning from nursery, bathing baby, feeding baby and so on. This means i need to work better on my time management to make some ‘me time’. I have heard people say that a women’s job is never done and so with that in mind i have decided that from now on i am going to make time for guilt free cups of tea. As a believer i know that the Bible is full of scriptures about rest…resting in God so i will do just that.
The fact remains that the dishes will always need cleaning, the house will always need cleaning,my children will always need my love and attention. Yes, as i am writing this i am just popping the kettle on and getting ready to put my feet up for a nice guilt free cuppa tea.
Matthew 11:28-29“…Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
As a mother of two i have experienced two interesting pregnancies both of which i spat through it like an angry camel. I constantly felt bloated with my first princess and even went off most of my favorite food and fragrances however with my second i could not stand the smell of lasagna, jerk seasoning or peppers(most things i love). With my second baby i puked so much like an overfed dog until stayed away from most food just in case! I hardly put on any weight and even 2 weeks before giving birth i was asked if i am pregnant by somebody who saw me nearly every other day during the whole pregnancy. Anyway going back to the title, a research carried out at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto over a period of 20 years has concluded that women who experience morning sickness tend to give birth to healthier babies. They reported that woman who experienced morning sickness had healthier babies with lower rates of birth defects or developmental issues. The study also showed less cases of miscarriage or premature births in all 850,000 participants.
Wow this is very interesting and i think maybe morning sickness is God’s way of helping us stay away from certain foods that can cause issues in pregnancy and perhaps there maybe a hint of truth in there but with all studies i always tend to take it with a pinch of salt because other factors may have played a role for example class, genes, finances, environment, habits and so on or if the woman took anti-natal vitamins.
I for one have 2 beautiful and healthy daughters thanks to God….not morning sickness lol
Pregnancy is one of the most beautiful period in a woman’s life. As well as being beautiful it can also be scary for some so i just wanted to encourage you to trust in Yahweh the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews12:2). Whether you are at the beginning or about to deliver i can guarantee the enemy will try to fling some type of untrue things in your mind but the word of the Living God is clear and tells us to have sound mind. For God did not give us a spirit of fear but of power love and o sound mind (2Timothy:7).
Ladies do not give fear room to grow but rather rejoice in the goodness of God. Rejoice in His creation and enjoy every moment of that precious baby being knitted together in your womb (Psalm139:13-14). God is truly beautiful and i discovered and felt it more than ever as my baby grew and begun to kick and even hiccup…yes babies hiccup in the womb as their lungs start to mature. I will never forget it when felt my baby Grace hiccup, i was at work talking when i got startled and she hiccuped. ..Anyway going back to the topic of fear, fear does not add anything good to you or your baby and there are countless tests showing babies in the womb reacting to stress. I never allowed fear to get in my way in my pregnancy and experienced zero stress because i ate, slept breathed the promises of God which is available to us through Jesus Christ. I read a wonderful book called ‘a supernatural child birth’ which helped me receive the knowledge that Jesus Christ died on he cross for me and by doing so redeemed me from the curse. We do not have to suffer with Eve’s curses but rather we can be filled with the peace of God because Jesus Christ has redeemed us. Now , i am not saying giving birth does not hurts because i would be lying….my my childbirth is the type of pain that i cannot find a word suitable enough to describe. Contractions can be so hard you may not be able to speak until it passes because it is really breath taking yet nothing beats the love and joy that overtakes your entire being once you hear your baby cry for the first time. Holding your baby in your arms will cause you to forget all the pain and a few months later you will not believe it when you tell yourself, ‘perhaps it is time to try again’.
My 8 month old baby girl enjoys playing with her daddy and her daddy likes a bit of rough play so he would put his head near her face allowing her to pull his hair and slap him. The hair pulling part I think its clearly a learned thing no thanks to daddy whereas the slapping thing is more of a reflex thing. Anyway to cut the long story short, I was holding baby princess yesterday when she gave me a surprise slap on my nose. Her big sister who is 3 years old told her off. She said,’no smacking, that’s not nice you have to go to the corner now for 8 months’…It was so cute i had to share it with her grandmama over the phone straightaway. Grandmama was so amused she wondered how long she would get sent to the corner for (she is in her late 60s).I love these little priceless moments
I remember a few weeks ago we attended her friend Racheal’s 4th birthday party minus daddy. There was a big match on that day and i do not even remember who was playing but my husband could not and would not miss it so he decided to stay home and we went without him. When we arrived at the party and greeted everybody i was asked where hubby was and i told them he was at home at working on the computer (he really was ). Later the birthday girl’s dad asked my daughter where daddy was and she replied ,’his at home watching Chelsea’. This was so embarrassing and so funny at the same time but i am so glad we all laughed off the situation. 🙂
Merry Christmas all, hope you have all had a blessed time with loved ones. This Christmas has been truly beautiful; celebrating with my husband and our two darling daughters. It was even more special as it was my youngest daughter’s 1st ever Christmas in the world. My little beauty enjoyed the day dressed in her reindeer tutu outfit and smiled and giggled all day despite her teething pain. My 3 year old enjoyed opening her gifts this year more than last year because she knows more than she knew last year. Before we went to bed she ensured chocolate biscuits and milk was left out for Santa. A few days before she visited Santa at the local department store and told him exactly what she wanted….Doc mucstiffins,a drum, guitar, baby annabelle, peppa pig laptop and oh the list goes on so hubby and i had to up our game this year to much her expectation. There was no snow but there was plenty of laughter, love, food and songs of worship at our place. In the midst of the presents, cooking mayhem there was an essence of peace knowing that none of those things mattered. Jesus our Lord is indeed and always will be the reason for this beautiful time called Christmas. My 3 year old out of the blue put a smile on my face when she said, ‘mummy Jesus was born in Bethleeeam’, to which i replied that’s right and on Christmas day we celebrate His birthday.
So merry Christmas to you all and may the good Lord, the prince of peace Jesus CHRIST the author of salvation grant you His goodness, mercy and favour Amen. xxxxxxx xxxxxxxx 😉
