Sorry  i could not post on the day but its been a very busy Easter celebration for us here, I was actually meant to post on the 1st of April but by the time i finished doing everything i was beyond knackered. The whole celebration has been wonderful especially now that my little one have reached an age where they are so inquisitive. My  4 year old keeps telling me that Jesus went to the cross and went up to the sky and asking lots of hows and whys. I love their little funny questions as it allows room for me to explain things in a way that is age appropriate. Days before good Friday we made 2 gorgeous Easter bonnets as the girls school required all children to wear one for their Easter celebrations. I had set my sights on getting non decorated simple bonnets from the poundshop or poundworld but unfortunately they had run out. I was amazed that all the shops had run out of bonnets and some well known shops did not bother to stock any. I did manage to buy some bonnet decorations and some simple straw summer hats which we turned into bonnets. The girls and i had so much fun decorating the bonnets and even daddy helped stitch some baby chicks for us. The girls looked so sweet wearing their bonnets for school before half term and also for church on Easter Sunday.

Asides from Easter bonnets we also had chocolate eggs overload. I really wanted to treat my little ones for doing so well at school so i just went overboard with the chocolates. I organised a cheeky Easter egg hunt in the house as the weather wasn’t too great. Chocolate eggs were hidden in the dolls house, study table, rocking moose and other strange and funny parts of the house. They took their egg hunt seriously and at some point became extra competitive as their marched around the house with their pink and yellow baskets. They had sch a ball and as for me, i found a Cadburys creme egg days later in the bedroom. I did not call the girls to come and see i simply sat down quietly and enjoyed a well deserved treat hmmm it was yum….such a great find.

On Easter Saturday we made some arts and crafts which the girls enjoyed as it involved lots of cutting, sticking, gluing and of course glitter. I planned to make my own hot cross buns but i did not get the time and so i cleared out my nearest supermarket :). Easter Sunday was such a treat as the girls were all pretty in pink with their bonnets. The service was beautiful as our wonderful pastor taught us on the power of Jesus Christ Resurrection. I just soaked in the message like a thirsty tree. The word of God is indeed life and i am so glad i have the privilege to know the true meaning of the season. My children love the bunny, chocolates, baby chicks and so on but they understand that its just a little bit of fun. What makes me happy is that they know about Jesus and how much He loves us.
