Meghan and her mummy

Megandhermum - Copy

With only a few hours to go until Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tie the knot, it must be nerve wracking for the couple. It was particularly nice to see lovely photos of Meghan Markle and her mother Doria Ragland arriving at the hotel where she will spend her final night as a single lady. It is a very exciting time in any person’s life and it was just nice to see the beautiful mother of the bride supporting her daughter. I cant imagine but i am sure being in another country and facing all sorts of made up stories in the media  must add to the pressure of the big day.

Doria Ragland looks absolutely gorgeous in her shift dress and heels. Her hair looks beautiful and both mother and daughter are glowing. I read somewhere about some people who found it rude that Doria was wearing a nose stud. The problem in this world is that some people do not know how to live and let live. The lady looks fantastic and she is not hurting anyone with her nose stud. She is 61 years old and i think she looks at least 20 years younger and very graceful. It is easy to focus on the bad but i am here to focus on the good  so roll on royal wedding.

So excited about the royal wedding

MegandHarry - Copy

Today is the 18th May and in only a few hours time we will witness a royal wedding between Prince Harry and the beautiful Meghan Markle. There is only one conversation in my house at the moment as we have been counting down the days to the royal wedding. My little ones are so excited that they will attend a royal picnic tomorrow and watch the wedding on a massive screen at the park. My little ones have decided that tomorrow they will wear their dresses and tiaras when we go to the royal picnic. It is just as well that my children are on board because i cannot hide my excitement. The whole week i have been busking in royal wedding fever and even went out t the shop today to buy some cute mugs commemorating the day.  I am super excited and i pray that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will have a beautiful wedding and a long and happy marriage.

How long does it take to name a baby?

royalbaby2 - Copy

A few weeks ago on St Georges day we all shared in the wonderful news of a new royal baby. The news that usually comes after the birth is the baby’s name but sometimes it is not as simple as that. Sometimes it takes a while to find a befitting name and i am sure the pressure is even more so when it is a royal baby. I was glad a few days later when it was announced on the news that the royal baby is to be called Louis Arthur Charles. It is wonderful that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge chose such meaningful names.

Before the royal baby was named, my colleague asked me why it was taking long to give the baby a name. I told her that naming a child is a special thing because a name is for life.  My colleague gave me a strange look and said , ‘wow but they had 9 months to do that’. I told my colleague my own story about how i named my children. The first one i researched the name for 3 months before giving birth and even after birth we had a naming ceremony with our wonderful pastor. Nobody except myself and my hubby knew the name of the baby until the naming ceremony when baby was about 1 week old. With the second one again we had a naming ceremony when she was 1 week old. Both names were roughly researched and most importantly we prayed over their names. I hope i do not come come across as snobby but naming a child ridiculous names is rather selfish and disrespectful to the child. Parents need to think of their children’s future and see their names as prophecies.

A couple of years back i saw on the news that some countries around the world actually have a banned list of names. In France it is illegal to name your child nutella, strawbery, deamon and mini cooper. According to the law in France, such names can lead to bullying hence not in the best interest of the child. I know there is a huge banned list with some hilarious names but the above is just an example.

Back to my question again, and the answer would be as long as it takes to find great name.

Michelle Williams engaged

MichelleWilliams - CopyCongratulations to Destiny child’s Michelle Williams who recently got engaged to Pastor Chad Johnson. According to the lovely bride to be, they met last year at a christian retreat and stayed in touch. The groom to be was encouraged by his friends to pursue Michelle and here they are today happily engaged. The happy couple are set to tie the knot this summer 2018.

It is so wonderful to see a Godly relationship especially in this day and age. According to their People’s magazine interview, they did everything the christian way. They were both done with dating and wanted to pursue a relationship that will lead to marriage. The groom to be reportedly told his bride to be that he was done searching upon meeting her. When Pastor Chad was ready to propose he sought the blessings and permission from those nearest and dearest to Michelle. What is also wonderful to see is that they are not having a 10 year engagement. I just do not understand long engagements. Traditionally engagements are supposed to be maximum 12 months. I understand that of course sometimes money can be an issue in regards to actually getting married but in the end it is not how much a wedding cost that matters. I have heard many elders saying, ‘marriage begins after the wedding’. It is so true and personally i think couples should work with what they have and let God bless it. It does not make sense to be engaged for 10 years while saving for a ‘Instagram’ style wedding.

I just love their testimony and i pray that it will encourage those that are still waiting and searching. What i have certainly learned from this is when they both gave up on relationships and doing things their own way, God showed up (not that He ever left lol) and did only what Yahweh can do. May they have a beautiful and blessed marriage 🙂
